I’ve misplaced my exam certificate. Please can I have a replacement copy?The EAB does not hold records of candidates’ achievements or re-issue certificates. You will need to contact the awarding body with which you sat the examination. You may find this website useful: How do I appeal to the EAB?Individual candidates (except private ones) and/or their parents or guardians cannot appeal to the EAB. Only the head of the school or college can submit an appeal application to the EAB. Please contact your teacher or examinations officer. An appeal to the EAB can only be lodged once the appeals process of the relevant awarding body has been exhausted. I asked my school to enquire about my results but nothing happened.This is a matter between you and the school. The EAB has no authority to intervene. The decision to lodge an appeal belongs to the school or college and not to the candidate or their parents. The EAB expects however that candidates’ concerns would be taken into account when making that decision.
Frequently asked questions from schools and collegesHow do I appeal to the EAB?The Head of Centre can appeal to the EAB by completing this application form. Please note that formal application to appeal to the EAB must be made within three weeks of receipt of the draft report detailing the outcome of an appeal to an awarding body. The EAB can only accept appeals once the appeals process of the awarding body has been exhausted. Can I appeal to the EAB against malpractice decisions or irregularities by staff or candidates?No. The EAB does not hear appeals on the matters – they are outside its remit. Can I appeal to the EAB against special considerations or special arrangements?Yes, the EAB hears appeals on these matters. However, the appeal must still relate to the grade awarded. The EAB cannot hear appeals about special arrangements before an examination is sat. Please refer to the 'How to appeal page' How much does it cost to appeal to the EAB?There is no fee. There will be a cost in terms of time spent preparing and presenting your case to the appeal panel. The EAB will reimburse costs incurred by schools/colleges travelling to and from appeal hearings. The EAB is not able to reimburse teacher supply costs. |
